Guardus G7, popularly known as the ‘wand’ by professionals in the security guarding industry is a sophisticated guard patrol monitoring and data acquisition tool.
It reads the unique identification code of each of the tour checkpoints using RFID (Radio-frequency identification) technology when the reader is placed in close proximity to the tour checkpoints encountered by the guards during their tour duty.
In a typical setup, the checkpoints are strategically placed at high-security places or assets that need to be protected and monitored for signs of sabotage, break-in attempts.

1. Visually Subtle that does not disrupt Aesthetics

By using RFID as a basis for reading the unique ID code of each location checkpoint, it means that the reading does not require any direct contact between the reader probe and the checkpoint.
This makes it possible for the checkpoint to be kept out of sight by hiding it underneath surfaces for concealment. This prevents intentional removal or vandalism by members of the public and ensures that the implementation of the security checkpoints does not disrupt the architectural aesthetics of the office building environment.

3. Wireless Data transfer for Seamless Connectivity

No longer do you need to connect messy data cables for each data transfer. Using the built-in infrared transmitter, the patrol data collected after each guard tour can simply be transmitted simply by pointing the reader to the receiving IR sensor on the computer.

 

4. Intuitive, Simple to Use

To use the Guardus G7, the guard personnel simply point the wand in close proximity to the checkpoint. To ensure that there is a successful reading for every scan, it has built in light and audio indicators to give feedback to the user that the scan is complete. If there is a read error, an indicator alert will also be activated to bring the guard’s attention to the rescan the checkpoint.
In addition, it also has a host of built-in intelligent notification for situations such as notification to start a tour, notification alert on low battery level and verification on the completion of each assigned tour.

 

5. Tour Planning & Scheduling

Using the Guardus G7 management software, it is able to guide the guard personnel on the sequence of guard checkpoint to follow. For added security purposes, it is also able to incorporate route variations to reduce predictability to any potential threats or trespasser.
Using the Contronics Event Wallet, not only is the Guardus G7 wand able to read each of the location checkpoints, it can also register up to 256 predefined events coded into the Event Wallet.

 

6. Foolproof, Tamperproof

Internal sensors are put in place to record each time the battery is removed and each time it is replaced. This would be useful reference if there is any suspicion that your staff is trying to avoid the tour duty.
